CROSSROADS: A JOURNAL OF NAGASAKI HISTORY AND CULTURE is an annual English-language publication edited by Lane Earns and Brian Burke-Gaffney. The 121-page debut issue, published Summer 1993, includes eight articles (accompanied by approximately 60 photographs) and one feature from authors in both Japan and the United States. The 121-page third issue, published Summer 1995, is a special edition (with 66 photos) devoted to the 50th anniversary of the end of WWII and the dropping of the atomic bomb on Nagasaki. All seven articles and one feature were either written or translated by the editors, Lane Earns and Brian Burke-Gaffney.
