Environmental Studies 490: Senior Seminar Research Proposal .
The research proposal should be brief, but it should show both >> deep thought about what topic you want to explore
The proposal should be efficient and in outline form. It should be 1 to 1½ pages long
It should include four sections: a. Topic. Be specific. b. Issues: List the questions you plan to raise and the issues you plan to wrestle with. Each item should be put in terms of a question with a question mark at the end. This is the most important part of the proposal . c. Dimensions: Indicate briefly how natural sciences, social sciences, and humanities are involved. d. Concerns you have about doing the project. >> Review sample research proposals on the course website.
The proposal is due the second class meeting of the semester (first week of class). Send an electronic copy to me as an email attachment. Also bring a hard copy to class.
The grade for this is approximately 2.5% of the final grade.
