1. Why was it that the bioregionalist movement worked so well and quickly for the Yalakom community and not nearly as well for the city of Vancouver?

2. What themes of bioregionalism are present in Carr's essay?

3. What was and is the key to success in both of these communities?

4. What was the major difference between how the Yalakom River Community and the Vancouver area reinhabited their community?

5. Vancouver is roughly the size of Milwaukee. Do you think reinhabitation could take place in a city the size of Chicago or larger? Why or why not?

6. What were the major similarities between the 2 cases studies?

7. Can we look to these 2 case studies to effectively change our own societies?  Can we look to the groups they formed to help change our own societies?  How or how not?
