The
Staff and Clefs
The musical staff has five lines with four spaces between them.
Notes can be placed on either a line or a space.
The note represented by each line or space is determined by the CLEF.
The two most commonly used clefs are the TREBLE
CLEF and the BASS CLEF
The treble clef resembles the letter G.
The line that is surrounded by the curved part at the bottom of the clef
is the note G.
A note placed on this line will be a G.
A note placed on the space below will be F.
A note placed on the space above will be A.
The lines are E G B D F and the spaces are F A C E
