Meter
The last thing to mention is meters that do not fit into either category.
Those that have a five, seven, or other number on the top.
These are complex meters. Usually they are
thought of as some combination of two and three patterns. For example:
5/8 can be thought of as a group of two eighth notes plus a group of three
eighth notes, or the other way around.
Sometimes 4/4 time is called common time
and is represented by a C .
Sometimes 2/2 time is called cut time and
is represented by a
