Experienced in all major areas of technical theatre as designer, supervisor and technician. Demonstrated ability to work in multiple capacities in a wide variety of facilities, using trained crews, student crews, and volunteer crews. Skillful at one-on-one instruction and classroom instruction, and in meeting budgetary restrictions without compromising artistic intent.

PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE:

Technical Director; University of Wis.- Oshkosh, 1997-

Responsible for overseeing technical requirements for Theatre department productions in the Fredric March Theatre and scene shop. Responsible for managing budgets for scenery, lighting and props departments. Responsible for lighting designs and occasional scenic designs, as well as teaching duties, including supervising and mentoring student designers.

Technical Director; UWC- Fox Valley, Menasha, WI, 1988-96

Responsible for meeting technical requirements for all events in the Fine Arts Theatre, including design, construction, and performance for Drama program productions.

Technical Director; Riverside Players, Neenah, WI, 1988-1996

Responsible for design and construction of scenery and lighting for plays and/or musicals for summer season, including procurement and/or rental and installation of necessary technical support equipment.

Electrics and Properties Supervisor -- Opera and Dance;
School of Music, University of Iowa, 1981-1987

Served as Master Electrician and Properties Master for two major operas and a major dance concert each year in a large proscenium theatre. Concurrent duties as supervisor of electrics and props departments called for careful planning to avoid time conflicts. Frequently constructed furniture, including 12 matching French provincial chairs for Manon. Served as lighting designer for several operas.

University of Iowa, 1980-1981

Served as Master Electrician for theatre, opera and dance productions, as part of a production unit of working professionals who supervised and trained theatre students to augment classroom instruction. Taught one course in theatre sound.

Master Carpenter; The Peninsula Players, Fish Creek, WI, 1975-1978

Trained and supervised three to five apprentice/interns for an Equity summer-stock theatre, producing five plays per season on a two week schedule. Created construction drawings as needed to augment set designer's drawings. Determined material needs and made purchases to accomplish designs.
