Gary A. Adams received a Bachelorís degree in Psychology from the University of Wisconsin Oshkosh in 1989 and a Masterís degree in Industrial/Organizational (I/O) Psychology from Illinois State University in 1991. Upon completion of the Masterís degree, he worked as a Human Resource Manager. Later, in 1995, he completed a Ph.D. in I/O Psychology at Central Michigan University. While at CMU he taught courses in Research Methods, Multivariate Statistics, Stress, and I/O Psychology. Dr. Adams began his time at the University of Wisconsin Oshkosh as part of the MS I/O Psychology Program where he taught courses focused on human resources management topics such as employee selection, development and evaluation as well as multivariate statistics. He is currently a member of the Management and Human Resources Department in the College of Business at the University of Wisconsin Oshkosh where he teaches courses in Human Resources Management. 

In addition to his teaching, Dr. Adams also enjoys conducting research and consulting to business organizations. His research interests include older workers and occupational health.  He has made over 50 professional presentations at national conferences such as those sponsored by the American Psychological Association, the Society for Industrial and Organizational Psychology and the American Psychological Society. He has published two books, several book chapters, and over 25 articles in journals such as Personnel Psychology, Journal of Applied Psychology, Journal of Occupational Health Psychology, Journal of Organizational Behavior, and Educational and Psychological Measurement. Dr. Adams has served as a consultant on over 50 projects with a variety of private organizations such as the Eaton Corporation, Affinity Health Systems, Kimberly Clark, and Alto Dairy, and public sector organizations such as the Department of Defense and the National Center for Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder. He is a member of the Society for Industrial and Organizational Psychology, the American Psychological Society and the Academy of Management.
