Student Collaborations
Much of my work with students is actually not in the department, but rather through my position as the Faculty Adviser for our campus undergraduate research journal, Oshkosh Scholar. In this capacity, I am fortunate to be able to edit and advise students on exciting projects they’re working on with faculty across campus, and in the process I learn a lot about topics like flood mapping, the Crusades, Toni Morrison’s novels and pet therapy. If you’re interested in the journal and possibly publishing there, please talk to me!
In the department, I’m pleased to be working with Cody Davies (junior Political Science major) on a project that examines social exclusion and voting patterns in Europe. Mr. Davies was hired through STEP (Student Titan Employment Program) and he and I hope to produce a manuscript ready for submission to a disciplinary journal by the end of the semester. In addition to my work with Mr. Davies, I am also involved in supervising two promising Honors Theses: Courtney Bichler’s work on NGOs and genocide prevention (adviser), and Molly Kopplin’s work on constitutions and women’s rights (co-adviser, with Druscilla Scribner).
