Campus Power Outage

The campus wide power outage that occurred from approximately 11:30 to 12:30 was due a failure of Wisconsin Public Service substation equipment located behind the Facilities Management Building.  Incredibly, the failure was due to a ground squirrel chewing on high voltage insulation at the substation.  This is the second time that a campus wide power outage was caused by a squirrel.   Power should now be restored throughout the campus.  If this is not the case, please contact Facilities at x3466.
