Jenny Woelfel

Jenny Woelfel advises TRiO Student Support Services students in the College of Education and Human Services and the College of Nursing, as well as social work majors.

Woelfel said she enjoys being a resource and guide to students on campus to aid in their educational success. She said she also enjoys helping students explore career and major options they are passionate about. In addition to academic advising, Woelfel is the coordinator of SSS Learning Groups for first year students and she supervises student leaders.

Woelfel earned a bachelor’s degree in sociology from UW Oshkosh and a master’s degree in counseling from Lakeland College. As a UW Oshkosh alumna, Woelfel said she loves being back on campus. Prior to joining the SSS team, she was an adviser for Upward Bound, a pre-college TRiO program, and a middle school counselor.

Her advice to college students is to follow their passions.

“Discover what it is you are passionate about,” Woelfel said. “Learn by trying new things and being open to opportunities and experiences. Most of all learn about the resources around you that can help you get where you want to go.”
