***Information about Michelle***
- I love learning and I question everything... which is what led me back to graduate school. I have worked in urban public schools in Wisconsin, Minnesota and Colorado, grades K-8, and have enjoyed every moment of it. I have worked with a diversity of children with a variety of cultural perspectives, ranging from English Language Learners to Special Education students. So many times I have wished I could jump inside children's minds to experience how they view the world.
- I enjoy all kinds of music from reggae to classical to country to rap, depending on the artist and the message. I typically listen to the lyrics or the melody and determine if I can connect to the music or not. I am an avid fan of acoustic music (probably because I play guitar) particularly from the Indigo Girls, Foo Fighters, Sarah McLachlan, Pearl Jam, Coldplay, Jack Johnson, Patty Griffin, Snow Patrol, Sting, The Samples, Rusted Root, Bob Marley, Paul Simon, Eric Clapton, Dave Matthews, etc. I am also a fan of piano music and instrumentals such as Lorie Line's work. I tend to like music that is calming and/or inspiring.
- Favorite quotes include:
Art is hidden in nature, and he who sees it, possess it. – Albrecht Durer
The most beautiful thing that we can experience is the mysterious. It is the source of all true art and all science. He to whom this emotion is a stranger, who can no longer pause to wonder and stand rapt in awe, is as good as dead: his eyes are closed. – Einstein
