Placement Levels
Elementary (EC-MC; MC-EA)
The candidate should teach/interact in multiple core components/content areas of the development level.
EC-MC: experience at both the early childhood and elementary levels is highly recommended (even if that consists of Practicum hours at one level and documented observations at the other)
MC-EA: experience at both the elementary and middle school levels is highly recommended (even if it is Practicum hours at one level and documented observations at the other); if pursuing a minor, hours must be in that content area
Early Childhood placement (EC-MC)

This may include the day’s opening, center time, circle time, small group work, specialist areas (art, music, gym, library), snack time, free play, dismissal, etc.
Kindergarten, Primary, Intermediate placement (EC-MC; MC-EA)

This may include math, science, social studies, reading, writing, spelling, technology, physical education, art, music and any other piece critical to the specific classroom, school or district dynamic.
Middle School placement (MC-EA)

This may include hours spent at varying levels/courses in specific content areas and any other piece critical to the specific classroom, school or district dynamic.
Secondary (EA-A; EC-A)
The candidate teaches in the content area(s) in which they seeking an additional license(s).

The hours may be split across the same course but to 2 different classes of students, 2 different content courses or levels related to the new license or one content course if the school uses block scheduling.
