Welcome to the EXCEL Center

Teaching Children in Classroom

The EXCEL Center, established in 2009, continues to extend UW Oshkosh’s College of Education and Human Services (COEHS) dedication to teacher preparation through three distinct program offerings for those interested in beginning or desiring to enhance their educational careers.

High quality professional development opportunities are available to teachers throughout the state of Wisconsin including an alternative pathway to initial licensure, secondary mathematics or science, professionals (act!), an add-on licensure program for currently licensed teachers (aol!), and graduate-level courses in the teaching of Earth and Space Science or Physics (Master’s of Science in Education). Programs meet the needs of working professionals with courses offered on campus, online or through distance learning.

Note: The EXCEL Center is part of the growth initiative at the University of Wisconsin Oshkosh and receives significant funding from UW Oshkosh, the College of Education and Human Services and University of Wisconsin System. The EXCEL Center staff includes Dr. Michael Beeth, Associate Dean and Director, Dr. Eric Brunsell, Ms. Penny Buckley, Dr. Michelle Fleming, Dr. Tammy Ladwig and Ms. Erika Ruedinger.
