It serves over 27,000 students in 49 schools, including 32 elementary schools (grades K-5), 12 middle schools (grades 6-8), four comprehensive high schools and one alternative high school. It also includes 4-year-old Kindergarten (4K), early childhood programs and alternative programs at the secondary level (grades 6-12). • Bilingual Permit Substitute Teacher: Due to the shortage of licensed bilingual substitute teachers, MMSD is hiring individuals who hold a minimum of a Bachelor's degree to work as short-term substitute teachers in bilingual classrooms.

• Bilingual Special Education Assistant (SEA): Special Education Assistants provide assistance to students with a variety of physical land/or developmental dicabilities. For students who have special education needs, and who are also English language learners, the role of the Bilingual SEA is critical. Duties may be performed in the classroom and/or the community, and may include assistance with school work, with activities of daily living and with developing social skills. SEAs might work with a student individually, or in small groups, and always under the direction of a teacher.
