Other Nature Organizations

Land trusts, nature conservancies, native plant societies -- become active in them as a member or volunteer.

Butte des Morts Conservation Club

BDMCC conserve, preserves, and restores (give CPR to) precious and endangered wildlife habitat within the 1,201 acres of wetands on Lake Butte des Morts known as Terrell's Island.

Ice Age Trail

Maintaining and expanding Wisconsin's great Ice Age Trail requires volunteers. Check out their "Mobile Skills Crew" website and calendar.

International Crane Foundation

The International Crane Foundation (ICF) works worldwide to conserve cranes and the wetland and grassland ecosystems on which they depend. The success of our international organization depends on the relationships we build and create with people around the world. Volunteers are a vital part of this solution. In exchange for their service, volunteers develop new skills, meet new friends, contribute to our collective knowledge, gain rewarding experiences, have unparalleled opportunities to work with endangered species, and the satisfaction of helping one of the world's most threatened families of birds. Volunteers interested in leading guided interpretive tours need to complete a formal Volunteer Naturalist Training, which will take place on Saturday, March 24, 2012 from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm at ICF.

Invasive Plant Association of Wisconsin

The mission of the IPAW is to promote better stewardship of the natural resources of Wisconsin by advancing the understanding of invasive plants and encouraging the control of their spread.

Natural Resources Foundation of Wisconsin

The Natural Resources Foundation of Wisconsin provides opportunities for individuals and organizations to deepen their understanding and appreciation of Wisconsin's natural resources, support state and local conservation programs, and establish conservation endowments.

The Nature Conservancy in Wisconsin

Do you want to experience nature and learn about wild habitats, all while meeting and working alongside others who love nature? The Nature Conservancy has many volunteer opportunities across Wisconsin.

Sierra Club of the Fox Valley

One of the oldest and most important national environmental organizations.

Trout Unlimited, Central Wisconsin Chapter

Trout Unlimited has workdays to keep our rivers and streams clean.

Wild Ones (local native plant society)

Wild Ones can use volunteers both with outdoor work with plants and office work on educational material. Most of the work would be unsupervised so would require a self-motivated and self-directed volunteer.
