The Divestment/Reinvestment Proposal

Different universities and organizations phrase the proposal in their own way, but here is how the proposal is presented to the University of Wisconsin Oshkosh Foundation and the UW Oshkosh community.

1. That the University of Wisconsin Oshkosh align its investments with its stated values about sustainability, the Earth Charter, and the Presidents’ Climate Commitment.

2. That the university immediately cease any new investment in the top 200 listed companies by estimated carbon reserves.

3. That within five years the university divest from direct ownership and from any commingled funds that include fossil fuel public equities and corporate bonds.

4. That the university reinvest in companies that reflect the university’s stated values.
