Learning Outcomes Environmental Studies 261
You will learn a lot of things in ES 261: Environment and Society. But what every section of the course has is the following learning outcomes:
- Students will understand how to apply and critique social scientific frameworks for understanding environmental problems and their solutions.
- Students will understand a variety of key concepts in the environmental social sciences (e.g., citizenship, economic development, sustainability, globalization, stewardship, consumption and production, social construction of nature and environmental problems, environmental justice, traditional ecological knowledge, science and technology studies).
- Students will develop an understanding of the ways that environmental problems have local, regional, national, and international causes and consequences.
- Students will be able to demonstrate ability to effectively present research about environmental ideas in oral form (poster presentation, PowerPoint presentation, group discussion).
