The University of Wisconsin Oshkosh established the Environmental Research & Innovation Center (ERIC) as a division of the College of Letters & Sciences to serve as a research and testing center for campus, the general public and external partners to test water samples, evaluate materials for biogas potential, perform groundbreaking research in solids management and conduct a variety of custom research projects. ERIC is committed to meeting client needs while training future scientists in the fields of ecology, environmental and public health, biology, limnology and microbiology.

ERIC's overall objective is to become a self-supporting business organization in the area of scientific testing and to serve the broader community. The breadth of knowledge and expertise across multiple disciplines, the ability to develop and execute custom testing procedures, access to state-of-the-art laboratories and equipment, and greater efficiency using highly motivated and trained students are all significant advantages we utilize as a University to achieve clients' long-term goals.
