Articulation Agreement Between Human Services College of Education & Human Services University of Wisconsin Oshkosh College of Nursing and Fox Valley Technical College

Human Services Program CADC Emphasis

Human Services students wishing to meet requirements for Certified Alcohol Drug Counselor (CADC), as defined by Fox Valley Technical College (FVTC), will complete the 40 credit hours in the Human Services major plus the 18 credit certificate, Alcohol Drug Counselor Certification Education, at Fox Valley Technical College. These 18 credits, when combined with the University of Wisconsin Oshkosh (UWO) Human Service (HS) major, constitute the basic knowledge requirements needed for CADC certification and will count for UWO electives. On completion of these credits at FVTC, the Human Services major may have the courses in the Alcohol Drug Counselor Certification transfer in as UWO 18-002. Human Services students at UWO in the pre-1998 program, may use these courses in lieu of the required minor. The courses must be transferred as a block and do not transfer individually.

Note: Students are entirely responsible for additional coursework that may be required for certification. Students are advised to get a plan on file with the certification board as soon as they are permitted to do so. Human Service students must meet all other certification requirements. UWO does not accept any responsibility for the certification process, except for providing CADC certified supervisors for the intermediate and major field courses.
