Native American Experiences

Course: 188

Section: 002

Instructor: Schacht, Miriam

This course is designed for students with experience or interest in Native American culture and community.  We will explore the history and the present of Wisconsin Native communities, and students will be encouraged to reflect constructively on the Native American experiences in higher education generally, and at UWO specifically. In addition to developing strong writing and critical reading skills, the course will also introduce students to resources and programs on campus, including visits from professors in a range of disciplines, discussions with Native alumni and current Native American students, and a student-guided community service project.
