Surveying The Natural World

Surveying The Natural World

Course: 188

Section: 007, 026, 027

Instructor:  O Grady, Tim

In this WBIS Seminar, we will be sampling some of the best nature writing in English over the last three centuries as models of not only how to appreciate the natural world but also of how to respond to it, respect it, allow it a more important place in our lives, and safeguard it for future generations.  In our writing we will strive to describe our experiences and sensations in nature, as well as the ideas stirred up by them, in order to share some of their character and spirit with our readers.  The insights and lessons we derive from our contact with the natural world will also be an important part of our writing.
