Who is eligible?
Current
English majors who have obtained credit for a creative writing class in the
Department of English at UW Oshkosh, at any time in their university career, are
eligible for the $1000 scholarship award.
How do I enter?
Send
four copies of five poems, single
spaced, in 12 point TNR font or equivalent, to:

Each poem’s length is limited to two single-spaced pages.

There is no entry fee.

No e-mail submissions will be accepted.

Please include the Charleyville Scholarship Checklist with your submission.
Deadline: postmark by October 26, 2012
Application Process: Your name, street address, phone number(s), and e-mail address should appear on a one-page cover sheet only. No identifying information should be included on any other page of your submission except for your one-page Artist’s Statement, which should be included as the second page of your application, after the cover sheet and before your poems.
What is an Artist’s Statement?
An
Artist’s Statement is a one-page description of your current work in poetry. It
may include reference to your literary influences; your invention and revision
processes; and your subject matter, themes, stylistic choices, and obsessions. Please
avoid jargon: make sure that your statement is clear and conversational, your
voice authentic and accessible.
Who will judge
my submission?
A
panel of UW Oshkosh creative writing faculty members will determine which
submissions will be sent forward to the final judge in Nashville.
