  • Each poem’s length is limited to two single-spaced pages.

  • There is no entry fee.

  • No e-mail submissions will be accepted.

  • Please include the Charleyville Scholarship Checklist with your submission.

Deadline: postmark by October 26, 2012

Application Process: Your name, street address, phone number(s), and e-mail address should appear on a one-page cover sheet only. No identifying information should be included on any other page of your submission except for your one-page Artist’s Statement, which should be included as the second page of your application, after the cover sheet and before your poems.

What is an Artist’s Statement?
An Artist’s Statement is a one-page description of your current work in poetry. It may include reference to your literary influences; your invention and revision processes; and your subject matter, themes, stylistic choices, and obsessions. Please avoid jargon: make sure that your statement is clear and conversational, your voice authentic and accessible.

Who will judge my submission?
A panel of UW Oshkosh creative writing faculty members will determine which submissions will be sent forward to the final judge in Nashville.
