Charlotte A. Nooe Memorial Creative Writing Scholarship
Sponsored by the Charleyville Foundation for Writers and Musicians, Nashville TN
Who is eligible?
All current English majors or minors not scheduled to graduate in the spring semester of the award and who have obtained credit for a creative writing class in the Department of English at UW Oshkosh are eligible for the scholarship.
What are the scholarship levels?
During the spring semester of each academic year (usually in late March/early April), scholarship awards in the following amounts will be distributed to students:
$500 (1st place)
$300 (2nd place)
$200 (3rd place)
Who will judge my submission?
A panel of UW Oshkosh creative writing faculty members will determine which submissions will be sent on to the final judges in Nashville.
How do I enter?
The genre of submissions alternate each year between poetry and prose manuscripts. Submissions deadlines also vary but are generally due by the end of the fall semester. Materials are due by 4 pm Friday, February 19th, 2016.

The Nevin James Scholarship
The Nevin S. James Scholarship Fund was established in 1970 by family, colleagues, friends, and former students to honor Professor James, who chaired the English Department for 23 years. The scholarship for students majoring in English recognizes exceptional scholarly writing and research. Applicants must be juniors who have earned at least 60 credits, 12 or more of which are for coursework in the major, and have a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0. Materials to be included in applications are career goals, and two analytical essays (one must incorporate research in a significant way) and are due by Monday, April 4th, 2016 for Fall 2016 awards.
