385-001 Professional and Digital Writing: Intro to Professional Writing
Instructor: Sam Looker
Description:
This course will provide an introduction to the study and practice of professional writing for students who are relatively new to the field. I have geared the class specifically toward English majors and minors, to help you take your writing and critical thinking skills from familiar English genres to the very different types of writing tasks you're likely to encounter in workplace environments. The class will provide you with practical training in workplace writing genres, grammar, copyediting, and document design. It will also acquaint you with theoretical discussions in the field of professional writing so that you can understand the thinking behind the genres and practices you are learning.
