Matthew Riehbrandt - President

I am a Mechanical Engineering Technology (MET) major at the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh (UW-Oshkosh) perusing my Bachelor of Science degree. I am grateful to have the honor of being a Co-President of the UW-Oshkosh Engineering Club for the fall 2017 semester. This is my third and final semester at UW-Oshkosh. I transferred here after earning my Associate of Arts and Science (AAS) degree at UW-Fond du Lac. In the process of transferring, I had also begun progress on an Associate of Applied Science Mechanical Design Technology degree at Moraine Park Technical College (MPTC). I started my involvement with the UW-Oshkosh Engineering Club last semester in the spring of 2017. I am looking forward to participating in the Engineering Club as a leader this semester because I want to help grow our engineering club and engineering program as a whole. This summer, I was involved with initiating our engineering club’s participation in the 2017/2018 NASA Human Exploration Rover Challenge. I am extremely excited to use the challenge as a means to demonstrate the skills and abilities that UW-Oshkosh Engineering Technology Students obtain through the program. I am also looking forward to our engineering club plant tours because I enjoy seeing area manufactures and learning more about the diverse local industries we have. I am currently employed as a Test Engineer/ Design Engineer Intern at a medical device manufacturing company. Upon graduating, I intend to begin my engineering career fulltime, but I also plan to attend night classes at MPTC in order to finish my Mechanical Design Technology degree. Away from school, I enjoy dirt sprint car racing, asphalt super late model racing, snowmobiling, shooting in trap leagues, running, and spending time with my girlfriend.

Juan Cabrera Gil - Co-President

My name is Juan Cabrera, originally from the Dominican Republic. I am a senior and designated Co-President of the Engineering Club. My major is Mechanical Engineering Technology. I have been active as a member and one of the pioneers of the club since it was founded three years ago. It is a real honor to be a member of this club and being able to contribute toward the development of it. I enjoy going to plant visit to the different companies within the Wisconsin area and learning about the process that they used while elaborating their products. Currently, we are working in the NASA Human Exploration Rover Challenge. As a future engineer and member of this club my goal is to get as much knowledge as I can within this major and project to be able to contribute in the development of a better society for us and the upcoming generations.

Diego Knauer

Hello,
My name is Diego Knauer and I am an international student from Germany, studying one semester at the UW Oshkosh. My major is “Energy Systems”. Personally, I think the Engineer Club is a very good opportunity to meet students with the same interests from a different country and to spend some time beside our classes to discuss engineering problems. Moreover, I am convinced, both students and the University benefit from each other throughout excursions and different projects. I like to spend my free time playing soccer or driving the motorbike.
