Having trouble seeing the beauty in a carton of eggs? Sometimes, you have to look further than the obvious. This carton contains eggs from cage-free chickens - a more humane, sustainable food source than eggs from chickens held in small cages. This carton contains little steps that add up to a big difference - a striking illustration of the University's mission, vision and values.
In 2008, UW Oshkosh adopted a student-initiated
policy to purchase these eggs. With more than 62,000 in-shell
eggs eaten on campus annually, UW Oshkosh is doing its part
to reshape views about humane food sources - one egg at a time.
