Homecoming 2010 to celebrate Titans Around the World

Bonjour! Hola! Jambo! Konnichiwa!

Alumni, students and faculty alike will find their favorite way to say “hello” to Titans Around the World, during the University of Wisconsin Oshkosh Homecoming 2010 celebration Oct. 22–23.

“Homecoming is the perfect time for UW Oshkosh alumni and the community to reunite and enjoy the variety of family-oriented festivities the weekend has to offer,” said UWO Alumni Director Christine Gantner. “Homecoming game attendance has grown by nearly 35 percent in recent years. If you haven’t been back, I encourage you to come see what you’ve been missing. We have something for everyone.”

The weekend will kick off Friday evening with an alumni authors’ event at University Books & More, followed by a dinner honoring alumni award recipients in the Reeve Memorial Union Ballroom.

Events continue on Saturday with the return of the family-friendly Tour de Titan bike ride in the morning, followed by the pre-game celebration at Tent City and the 2 p.m. football game versus UW–Platteville at J. J. Keller Field at Titan Stadium. Fifth Quarter will return to the Hilton Garden Inn.

“In addition to our popular alumni benefits, such as Alumni Career Services and discounts for University Books & More and Personal Enrichment classes, we always are adding more perks for our alumni,” said UWO Alumni President Traci (Hanson) Raether ’87 and MSN ’95.

Engage is a winner!

University of Wisconsin Oshkosh graduates are not the only ones who noticed that the alumni magazine improved. This winter, Engage received a silver award in the Most Improved Alumni Magazine (10,000 FTE and up) category from the Council for the Advancement and Support of Education District V (Midwest region). The gold went to Purdue University.

Engage serves to build readers’ relationships with the University, reconnect alumni with their alma mater and establish lifelong connections. The alumni magazine is part of UW Oshkosh’s integrated marketing and communications strategy.
