Nearly a year ahead, more than a dozen University of Wisconsin Oshkosh alumni are planning what they hope will be their alma mater’s celebration of the decade — the first-ever All-Greek Reunion to take place Oct. 12-14, during Homecoming 2012.
When alumni Karen (Dohr) Goodwin ’69, an Alpha Phi, and Norbert Hill ’69 and MSE ’71, a Sigma Tau Gamma, got back in touch through Facebook after 35 years, they quickly came up with a plan to help their fellow sorority sisters and fraternity brothers reconnect.
“Greeks are some of our most loyal alumni,” Hill said. “We want to bring them back to see how the town has changed, how the campus has grown and what a fine institution we are a part of.”
All alumni who participated in a UW Oshkosh Greek organization are invited back to campus for the special reunion. The weekend full of events will include traditional Homecoming activities, such as the Alumni Association Awards Dinner on Friday night; the Tour de Titan 4 Bike Ride, Tent City pregame celebration, Titan football game versus UW-Platteville and the post-game Fifth Quarter reception on Saturday, as well as an All-Greek Reunion Celebration on Saturday and an All-Greek Continental Breakfast on Sunday.
“We’re thinking we’ll easily have 1,000 people attending,” Goodwin said. “We’re hoping that we can bring back those who have continued to stay connected and those who have not kept in touch. We want people to know that whatever has happened in their lives since they graduated, we all still have that relationship base from when we were young.”
Besides Goodwin and Hill, the planning committee includes Linda Bailey Boilini ’73, Chi Omega; Tom Boyson ’72, Sigma Tau Gamma; Brooke Buntrock ’04, Gamma Phi Beta; Jerry Hummel ’68 and MSE ’70, Tau Kappa Epsilon; Sarah (Berens) Mathewson ’68, Gamma Phi Beta; Henry “Hank” Mathewson ’67, Sigma Pi; Jason Mathwig ’00, Theta Chi; Dean Moede ’65, Sigma Tau Gamma; Jim Rath ’76, Delta Sigma Phi; Ron Schreier ’68 and MSE ’70, Delta Sigma Phi; Mark Stockli ’72 and MSE ’78, Alpha Kappa Lambda; Jeanne (Womaski) Tondryk ’76, Alpha Phi; and Chris (Jokisch) Tower ’71 and MSE ’73, Alpha Phi.
Additional volunteers are welcome to join the committee. No need to live in Oshkosh to serve on the committee, because the Alumni Relations Office provides a telephone conferencing option.
“We want representatives from as many Greek organizations and decades as possible to be involved in the planning process,” said UW Oshkosh Alumni Director Christine Gantner.

Can’t wait!
Well, Gary (“Stein,” “Poncho”), Delta Sig, and I are going to the Greek reunion. Have to relive those Circus days and more. Hope to see LOTS of you there. “Sam” Van Sistine (Alpha Phi)
The All-Greek Reunion is definitely a focal point for alumni with Greek affiliations … any Greeks who choose not to take part are MISSING a HUGE part of the Heritage they help to establish at our Alma Mater ….. for those who choose to come back – they will be rewarded with the true sense of what it is like to be a part of a great University … hope to see many from all segments of the Greek culture from the past this October … Dean Moede
