Waste Disposal at UW Oshkosh

Wastes commonly generated on campus by academic departments or campus services include such as items non-alkaline and rechargable batteries, fluorescent lamps, unwanted electronics, chemicals, and biological material.

All of these items are collected by Environmental Affairs, and each has its own regulations regarding disposal. If your department generates significant quantities of these wastes you should have a designated satellite accumulation area and have a person coordinate pick-ups with Environmental Affairs.

Hazardous waste, Biological Waste, Universal Waste and Pharmaceutical Waste all have specific regulations and policies covering storage and accumulation which must be followed.

Please see the following links for more information. The Quick Disposal Guide can answer basic questions about how to dispose of a waste.
