"Making your Money Work for You "

Kristi Cutts

Reeve Union 220

Managing your money involves both knowing what money and resources you have to work with and where you want your money to go.  It is also knowing the difference between wants – those many, many things we’d like to have and needs – life’s essentials.  This program will help you learn about how you presently handle your money, as well as ways you can make your money work for you.  Through hands-on-activities and discussion, you will learn about your financial priorities, how to track your expenses, and develop a spending plan that works for you.

Money Smart Week is a national campaign to improve financial literacy that was initially developed by the Federal Reserve Bank, and adopted four years ago by the State of Wisconsin’s Department of Financial Institutions (DFI) and the Governor’s Council on Financial Literacy. Events have been going on in surrounding communities the past few years, and this year a group collaborated to provide Money Smart Week events in Winnebago County.

Money Smart Week Winnebago County will feature over 40 free events on personal finance and career management.

Kickoff is October 9th from 4:30-6:30 at the Boys & Girls Club in Oshkosh and will feature, Representative Gordon Hintz, MC Chuck Lakefield, along with FREE games, food and prizes. Workshop offerings during the week of October 10th-17th event details at http://www.oshkoshpubliclibrary.org/calendar/2009-10
