Programs for Employees

As part of our effort to be of assistance to you and your staff group, the staff of the Employee Assistance Program is available to make presentations on a variety of topics relevant to employees. You are welcome to request these programs by calling 424-1078.

  • Team Functioning

    • Enhancing Workplace Communication
      Improve your communication skills: listening, self-reflection and communicating completely. Co-workers need to communicate clearly and directly with one another to ensure productivity and improve job satisfaction.
    • MBTI Team Building
      The Myers Briggs Type Indicator is used by corporations around the world to help team members better understand each other and themselves. Understanding differences and similarities in personality style will help individuals to maximize strengths and develop strategies for working more effectively with others.

      This program discussed methods of effective communication between parents and teens.

    • Stress, Coping, Guided Imagery and Relaxation Techniques

  • Improving the Workplace Climate

    • Frazzled? Coping with Job Stress: A Program for Employees
      What is job stress and how does it affect you? Learn to identify the signs of job stress and the climate and personal factors that affect you. Strategies to reduce job stress will be discussed.
    • Responding to Difficult People
      What constitutes difficult behavior? Improve your ability to deal with difficult people. You will have the opportunity to practice these skills.
    • Managing Anger in the Workplace
      Whether dealing with your own frustration, an agitated student or an angry colleague, defusing anger in the workplace is a learned skill. Learn to respond in a calm, assertive and empathic manner that will maximize problem solving and minimize negative outcomes.

      A Ten-Minute orientation to the services offered by the Employee Assistance Program. This presentation can be accompanied with a website visual.

    • In addition to the above programs, EAP offers the following services:
  • Individual consultation on workplace and/or personal problems.
  • Consultation to all employees regarding students they are concerned about and how to handle difficult students.
  • Consultation Services on Wellness and Life-Balance
    Stress management and strategies to prioritize, balance and approach problems in a more relaxed manner.
  • Crisis Intervention
    EAP staff members are trained to assist individuals and/or groups to better cope with a traumatic event or disaster. We also provide support and intervention necessary for employees or groups of employees to cope with the death of a co-worker.
