Registration is now open for the 2008 Oshkosh Dragonboat Race & Festival. Registrations are accepted on a first-come first-served basis. The Challenge: Dragon Boat Racing is a great sport for men and women of all ages and abilities. The Scoop: Teamwork is everything in Dragon Boat Racing. Synchronicity is more important than strength. A perfectly synchronized team will almost always beat a stronger, but less coordinated team. The Crew: A maximum of 20 paddlers, plus a steersperson (provided by the Festival for each boat) and a drummer.
Additional alternates may be listed on the team roster. Each boat must be comprised of 8 paddlers of each gender. The Captain: Each team must have a captain. The dragon boat planning committee will communicate regularly with the team captains. Team captain responsibilities:
