NSPThe National Writing Project (NWP)  is the nation’s only professional development network devoted to improving the teaching of writing in all its forms and across all subject areas, in schools, colleges, and in the community.

Since the start of the first writing project forty years ago by English teacher Jim Gray, NWP has grown into a network of nearly 200 university-based, local sites serving all 50 states, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands, reaching 1.4 million students a year.

The Fox Valley Writing Project benefits from the support of the NWP national network where we have access to the work of more than 40,000 K-12 teacher leaders who believe in the importance of building knowledge about writing and learning for all children.  For more information, see the letter below from Judy Buchanan and check out the NWP website.
