Enhancing Learning in Subject Area Classrooms (ELSAC) is a three-year professional development project offered through the Fox Valley Writing Project and the UW Oshkosh College of Education and Human Services, in partnership with the Appleton Area School District. This project is supported by a Wisconsin Improving Teacher Quality (ESEA) grant. ELSAC is currently in its second year and has recently been funded for its third year (2012-13).
This presentation, The Art of Annotating: The Pathway to Analytical Reading, is an example of how ELSAC is incorporated into the classroom for professional development. It was created by Monica Jones who is the Social Studies Department Chair at Xavier High School in Appleton, WI.
