CON Transformation: We’re on the move!

2015_transformation_600The College of Nursing will move out of the Nursing Education building into newly remodeled and expanded space in the CLOW complex of buildings in early 2016.

Additions include three Simulation Labs, Student Flexible Practice Lab, Heritage Conference room and Nursing Technology Suite, bringing instructional spaces into the 21st century.

The renovation also will include active learning classrooms, planned technology upgrades, expanded computer access and multiple faculty/student collaboration spaces.

2015_transformation_novak-jandrey_150Mary Novak-Jandrey Community Health Simulation Suite:
Designed as a transformable home apartment, nursing students will master the skills needed to work in a home setting, gaining clinical experiences directly related to home care, hospice and public health. Novak-Jandrey received a BSN from UW Oshkosh in 1974. As the national managing director at HRadvantage, she works closely with human resources departments to recruit, retain, deploy, develop and reward talent within healthcare organizations across the U.S.

Dr. Suzanne and Dr. Mark Marnocha Student Organization Meeting Room:
A gathering place to empower students involved in the Oshkosh Student Nurses’ Association (OSNA) and the Great Lakes Chapter of Men In Nursing. The Marnochas believe student passion for nursing grows through involvement with student organizations and student-faculty collaborations.

The Cheryl L. Mellenthin ICU/Trauma Simulation Suite:
A training center for upcoming generations of nursing students to prepare for today’s fast-paced, healthcare environment. Mellenthin received a BSN from UW Oshkosh in 1979. As a dedicated ICU nurse, she understands the importance of hands-on, real-life nursing educational experiences.

Mark Chapman Dean’s Suite:
The new home of the Dean’s Office and support staff for the College of Nursing. Chapman was a poet, painter and philanthropist who had a passion for higher education. His generosity also impacted UW Oshkosh’s Department of Music with the donation of a new Steinway piano in 2014.
