Society Insurance, based in Fond du Lac, Wisconsin, provides unmatched commercial insurance products and services. Our customers include small to mid-sized businesses, located in Wisconsin, Illinois, Indiana, and Iowa, in niche markets such as: restaurants, hotels, convenience stores, taverns, and many more.

History

Society was founded in 1915 to provide workers compensation insurance to threshing crews who worked on local farms. 95 years later, our customers and industry have changed, but we still provide outstanding workers compensation insurance as well as property, auto, and liability coverage.

Today, we employ approximately 260 employees. We are serious about our business, but we recognize that work is just one part of our lives. The atmosphere always has a hint of fun to it, whether it is a normal workday, our summer picnic, or holiday party. Individuality, creativity, and success are fostered in Society’s environment and within the hearts of our employees.

Campus Participation

Society Insurance has a presence on the University of Wisconsin Oshkosh campus, but our strongest connection is with the College of Business. We have utilized a variety of methods to reach out to UWO business students like:

Our Opportunities

Our internships offer an amazing, comprehensive experience through the use of job shadowing. Interns are also given an opportunity to take classes to learn more about the insurance industry. Internships are offered for: Accounting, Human Resources, Information Technology, Worker’s Compensation Claims, Property/Auto/Liability Claims, and Underwriting. At Society, you are sure to find a wealth of knowledge and a great experience at a great place to work.

Opportunities for students and alums at Schenck:

Schenck offers current students the opportunity to intern at any of Schenck’s eight locations. Internships are typically in tax, but audit experience can also be included if it fits with the career interests of the student. Internships typically run between January and April.

For new graduates, Schenck offers entry level positions on our tax, audit, and small business teams, with the opportunity to advance and develop into any of the many specialty service areas we offer clients.
