APICS Chapter sets award record

Dr. Mike Godfrey and Dr. Andrew Manikas were honored for their collaborative efforts on two different papers by receiving Outstanding Research awards at the Institute for Business and Finance Research’s annual Global Conference on Business and Finance Research this past May. This is the third year in a row that these professors have been formally recognized for their research together.
Professor Ben Arbaugh was selected as the recipient of the John McNaughton Rosebush Professorship for the 2011-2012 academic year and Professor M. Ryan Haley was selected this past spring as a recipient of the TRISS Endowed Professorship at the University of Wisconsin Oshkosh.

Though the OshkoshInsurance program is just entering its third year, it has experienced both tremendous growth and success. The program began with about 12 students in fall of 2009 and now over 50 students are enrolled in the insurance program.
The International Business Club (IBC) and the UW Oshkosh College of Business (COB) partnered to donate books to Better World Books and in just over three weeks, were able to collect 51 boxes of used books, manuals and other media to donate.
The UW Oshkosh College of Business along with Madison International Trade Association (MITA) and UW Oshkosh Small Business Development Center (SBDC), hosted the first Global Entrepreneur Breakfast on Wednesday, June 15, 2011.
This past June, Northwestern Mutual honored Alex Marchan (BBA’11) with its Target 20 Award. This award is presented to interns who perform at an elite level while aiding clients. Throughout the past awards year (May 2010-May 2011) Marchan, affiliated with the Holter Financial Group, sold over 20 insurance policies.
There is never a dull moment in the Skinkis household, but Liza and Daniel know that the chaos will all be worth it. The pair balances their fulltime course loads, student organization involvement and internships with reading bedtime stories to their three year old son, Julian, and they do it all without missing a beat.
On June 19, 2011, 12 students and three administrative staff members from the University of Nizwa in Oman arrived on the UW Oshkosh campus for a five-week learning program.
