The Women's Center exists to help empower women to fulfill their personal, academic, and professional potential.
The dream for the Women's Center originated in the University of Wisconsin Oshkosh Ten-Year Plan to Address Women’s Issues. Our dream is to fulfill the goals of this plan and thus make our Center an integral and exciting part of the UW Oshkosh campus and the life of the Oshkosh community in general.

We will strive to help women and men of all walks of life to learn to work, play, and live together in ways based on mutual respect by;
- providing resources and education for the UW-O community;
- creating a welcoming place for women to connect;
- promoting an environment that values diversity; and
- promoting engagement between students, faculty and the community in the context of women's issues and needs.

Consuming Kids throws desperately needed light on the practices of a relentless multi-billion dollar marketing machine that sells kids and their parents everything from junk food and violent video games to bogus educational products and the family car. Drawing on insights from health care professionals and industry insiders, it focuses on the explosive growth of child marketing in light of deregulation and how youth marketers have used the latest advances in psychology, anthropology, and neuroscience to transform American children into one of the most powerful and profitable consumer demographics in the world.
October 2007
Helping to raise awareness of National Breast Cancer Awareness month, the UW Oshkosh Women's Center partnered with several UWO departments to raise money for breast cancer research and create visual awareness. Special thanks to Festival Foods for their contributions to helping bring Yoplait's "Pink Lids" to campus, and our artistic staff, Pa Nhia Lee and José Navarro.
