UW Oshkosh Safety Bulletin - April 9, 2008
Invasion of Privacy

Two incidents of concern to students, staff and faculty have recently occurred on campus.  In the interest of safety and with the belief that an informed community is a safer community, we are notifying you of the following incidents.

Between approximately 10:00 AM and 11:15 AM on Monday, April 8th two female students reported to University Police that they were the victims of
separate incidents involving an Invasion of Privacy while showering in a residence hall bathroom.

The first incident occurred at about 10:05 AM in
Breese Hall.  The student victim was showering when they noticed that a shower curtain had been partially opened.  The victim looked out of the shower and saw an unidentified older male exiting the bathroom.  This incident was not immediately reported to police.

The second incident occurred at about 11:10 AM in Fletcher Hall.  In this incident the student victim was showering and noticed someone stick a small mirror under the shower curtain and quickly pull it back.  The victim yelled at the individual outside the shower curtain and they were heard quickly fleeing the bathroom.  In this case the victim did not see the suspect, however several witnesses who were interviewed reported a suspicious older male in the hall at the time of the incident.

The University Police believe that the suspect in both incidents may be the same individual.

The person of interest in both incidents is reported to have been wearing blue jeans, a gray hooded sweatshirt with Kent State across the front in black letters with yellow trim around the lettering.  The suspect is further described as a obviously older male perhaps 40-50 years of age, standing about 5'10" to 6'1" tall with a stocky build and weighing about 220 pounds.  The suspect had short to medium length, graying light brown hair as well as a moustache and perhaps some light growth of whiskers on their chin.

Please view the links below.  The two links are brief views of video images of the person of interest.   If you know the identity of this person or see them on campus, please call University Police.
