The Department operates twenty four hours a day, every day of the year. Uniformed police officers patrol the campus on foot, on bicycle and in marked and unmarked police vehicles. Officers respond to a variety of calls for service, self-initiate activity as deemed necessary, and assist other local law enforcement agencies. Officers enforce all criminal and traffic laws, and administrative rules of the University of Wisconsin System. Officers provide services such as assisting motorists, building security checks, and crime prevention programs. Officers also conduct investigations into criminal activity, giving the officers the opportunity to perform all aspects of criminal investigations.
