SPECIAL CONDITIONS OF ARRESTED PERSONS

 

The graph below shows the special conditions of arrested persons. University affiliation refers to students or employees of the university. Non-university affiliation refers to persons who were visiting, passing through, or others who chose to commit a crime within the university community and who were subsequently arrested. In 2004 49% of arrests were university affiliated and 51% non-university affiliated as compared to 54% being university affiliated and 46% being non-university affiliated for 2003. Of the 570 arrests made in 2004, 519 or 91% of all those arrested involved chemical use or abuse. Chemical use or abuse, primarily alcohol, were either a contributing factor to the arrest or were discovered incident to an arrest.
