Professor Juyeon Son had a very (re)productive summer!
And here's the result:
The baby's name is Caiden Jiwoon Kim, and although his birthweight was 7 pounds 2.2 ounces, he is really tiny! Our congratualations to Juyeon and proud daddy Min Hoon-- "sleep" will now be just an abstract concept for you!
Mosley and Iverson Receive Awards
By unanimous vote of the Sociology Department faculty, Valerie A. Mosley has been given the Don Martin Distinguished Sociology Scholar Award. This award is primarily based on academic accomplishment, and comes with a check for $100. By unanimous vote of the Sociology Department faculty, Ellen Iverson has been given the Greg Olsen Student Service Award. This award is primarily based on service to the department in the interest of the students, and comes with a check for $50. The department benefitted from the presence of both Valerie and Ellen among our majors.
