MPA Program

The Curriculum

The MPA curriculum includes three parts: a core curriculum (21 credits), elective courses (12 credits), and a written field project or capstone seminar (3 credits) for a total of 36 credits. The core curriculum consists of seven, three-credit courses that cover major elements of public administration, emphasizing theoSeptember 14, 2007ion.

Students may choose one of two options for the culminating experience:

  1. The Field Project --- an analytical paper that demonstrates knowledge of public administration, communication skills and analysis techniques.
  2. The Capstone Seminar --- a comprehensive review and assessment of theories, concepts and methods found in core courses.
