Dr. David A. Lishner is interested in a number of topics concerning emotion and empathy-related processes. His current research consists of: (a) examining processes involved in emotional contagion using both self-report and psychophysiological measures, (b) developing empirically-derived self-report scales for measuring emotional experience, and (c) investigating the emotional and motivational aspects of human altruism. In addition to these research topics, he is also interested in evolutionary psychology, aggression, and emotional psychopathology.

Dr. Lishner received his BS degrees in psychology and mathematics from Washington State University in 1998. He was trained as a social psychologist at the University of Kansas where he received an M.A in Psychology in 2000 and a Ph.D. in psychology in 2003. He completed a postdoctoral fellowship at Vanderbilt University from 2003-2005. Dr. Lishner became a faculty member in the Department of Psychology at the University of Wisconsin Oshkosh in 2005.

Dr. Lishner currently teaches Elementary Psychological Statistics (PSYCH 203) and Social Psychology (PSYCH 205).
