Research Experience

We believe it is important to provide our students with both applied and research experience. Research experience is gained through the thesis and other collaborative research.

I/O Master’s Thesis
The master’s thesis is a skill-building activity that allows students to design and conduct research. Recent topics include:

Acceptance of organizational research
Applicant reactions to selection procedures
Occupational health and stress
Personality tests and applicant faking
Goal-setting and feedback
Training and professional updating
Work-Life balance

Other Research
Many students conduct research on their own and with faculty. They have published in journals such as the Journal of Applied Psychology, Educational and Psychological Measurement and the Journal of Applied Social Psychology. They presented at the Society for Industrial and Organizational Psychology, Academy of Management and the American Psychological Society.
