Community Visits

The UW Oshkosh Department of Psychology strongly feels that we, as visitors to another country, need to return the hospitality extended to us. We have tried to do that in several ways.

Kathleen Stetter presents library books on psychology, Wisconsin, and the United States to Athiná Arcadinos Liete, Academic Director at ACBEU.

UW Oshkosh students donated school supplies and visited the Escola Mestre Pastinha primary school in the Pelourinho District of Salvador. Several of the Brazilian psychology majors who attended the cross cultural research class arranged visitation to the school where they were completeing an internship.

Books from the Barbara Ryan Literacy Fund and a monetary donation were presented to the Pracatum Project in the Condeal Pequeno District. "Black or White, the race is human" is one of the themes of this neighborhood revitalization project which uses music as an organizing tool.
