Ten Questions and Curiosities of the Bassoon--Answered and Analyzed

ABSTRACT
Teaching bassoon
can be a daunting task, especially to busy music educators who may not fully
understand the complexity of the instrument themselves. The keys to unlocking
every bassoonist's potential exist in many pages of physics text and method
books alike, yet we need look no further than our students' natural tendencies
to question all things. In the past ten years of playing bassoon, I have asked
many questions myself and listened to many more concerns and curiosities of my
students. These questions range from crows to half-holes and everything in between.
From all of these questions I have chosen ten that I feel will benefit the
developing bassoonist the most.
