By the fall of their junior year, students will know whether or not they have been accepted for an internship.

Clinical Internship & Hospital Affiliates

Since the program began in 1955, the number of internship positions available has generally kept pace with the number of applicants. A high percentage of our students applying for internships are successful, however, students need to be aware of the fact that internship placement is a competitive process. The level of competition changes each year based on the number of qualified applicants.

When students have completed their four-year curriculum, they receive a bachelor of science degree and are then eligible to take a national examination for certification as a Medical Technologist/Clinical Laboratory Scientist. For UW-Oshkosh Medical Technology majors the success rate for this examination has been about 99%, compared to a national success rate of only 75%. Our graduates have been equally successful in obtaining employment after graduation.

Internships are held at any of the five hospitals currently affiliated with the UW-Oshkosh Medical Technology Program:

All of the hospital programs are fully accredited by the National Accrediting Agency for Clinical Laboratory Sciences (NAACLS).
