Item Retrieval Service

Let Polk Library save you some time and footwork! Polk Library offers faculty and academic staff the opportunity to place a request for items available on the shelf. The items are typically retrieved within 1-3 hours depending on staff availability during open library hours.

Retrieval requests are made using the "Request an Item" feature of the Polk Library online catalog. Please do not request us to retrieve items in person or over the phone - use the steps below only.

  • Do a search in our library catalog to find the item from our collection that you want.
  • When you are looking at the record for the item you want retrieved, click the "Request an Item" on the top toolbar.
  • Enter your 16 digit Titan Card number and your last name.
  • From the menu that appears, click Retrieve an Item From the Stacks
  • Enter your 16 digit Titan Card number again in the box provided.
  • Click Submit Request.
  • When the item is available for checkout, you will receive an e-mail notice via your campus email account.

This new service began as a one-year trial for the 2004-05 academic year and is continuing. We hope this service works well for you. If you would like to comment about the service, please email circulation@uwosh.edu
