Microsoft/USGS Terraserver Maps of the World

Microsoft and the United States Geological Service have collaborated to offer this site that includes maps from all over the world. The site now requires registration in order to be utilized fully.
United States Geological Service (USGS)
The USGS is the agency that provides mapping of the United States including topographical, surface use, and mineral management maps.
University of Texas Map (CIA) Collection
The University of Texas (CIA) map collection includes political maps for throughout the world. The maps are available in digital image formats that can be downloaded into GIS programs or any software program that accepts the image format that the maps are available in.
National Weather Service 
This is the web site of the agency that is charged with weather forecasting, hurricane and tornado alerts, and recording climatological data for the United States and the surrounding area.
USGS National Digital Atlas
The National Digital Atlas provides users with access to many different kinds of maps of the United States in digital formats that can be imported into GIS programs and software programs that allow access in the particular digital format the map is available in.
National Climatic Data Center
The National Climatic Data Center provides access to data gathered by the National Weather Service. A fee is charged for accessing most of the data--however the Polk Library Government Documents Division allows one user to access this information through the use of a special password authorization.
National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration
The NOAA is the U.S. agency that provide access to aeronautical and nautical maps for areas outside the United States
Intellicast
Intellicast provides live access to the current forecast in using radar or satellite imagery.
Geodata.gov
"Geodata.gov is a web-based portal for one-stop access to maps, data and other geospatial services that will simplify the ability of all levels of government and citizens to find geospatial data and learn more about geospatial projects underway".
David Rumsey Historical Maps Collec.
This collection has over 8,800 maps available in digital format. The focus of this collection is 18th Century and 19th century maps of all types.
FEMA Hazard Maps
The Federal Emergency Management Administration has access to maps of live events such as hurricanes, floods and other catastrophes.
Wisconsin Maps--DNR Managed Lands
This site maps the entire state of Wisconsin. The maps include the ability to show several layers of information including the topography, muncipalities, roads and streets, water, rivers and streams, townships, sections etc. The map shows public lands throughout the state and provides detailed descriptions of the public lands. The zoom fucntion allows users to zoom into specific locations. The detail of the map increase as one zooms into smaller areea.
